I've spent the last 20 years writing, designing, editing and marketing, one word at a time. Storytelling is at the heart of everything I do, whether I'm designing a seamless user flow, crafting an error message that keeps people moving, or writing a blog post to inspire action.
For the past 7 years I've been dedicated to UX writing, content design and content strategy, hooked on the nuanced challenges of telling, not selling. This work has given me the gift of collaboration with some brilliant folks - designers, writers, design leaders, lawyers, engineers. I love the work, but it's the people that bring the magic, inspiring me to push my craft further. AI is changing the landscape of experience design, yet I don't believe writers and designers will go extinct. We need that human stewardship, especially in tech.
I'm also a visual artist and fun to work with!
I was born in Australia, and live and garden in Houston.
Say g'day!

Ebony and I have partnered together many times over the last 3 years, working on everything from hotspots to digital security solutions to billing. What’s similar about these three examples? They all are heavily technical or require lots of legal jargon. You would never know by looking at Ebony’s output though - as she skillfully champions the user, guiding them through flows with simple, friendly and human language.
This has required her to fully immerse herself in the subject matter, and she does so with great passion. Ebony asks pointed questions to drive insights and pushes our product team to further define requirements. She also actively listens to all stakeholders to make sure business, technical and legal needs are met. On top of all this, she takes the time to write detailed rationale, enabling her to not only defend her POVs, but for stakeholders to seamlessly and quickly review copy asynchronously.
Ebony’s approach has allowed her to, not just shape the direction of the content of a project, but the entire cross-channel experience and visual direction as well.
She fully participates in the design process, advocating for content to be included at every stage from kickoff to QA. Her insights have driven many positive process changes ranging from how our files are set up to the beginnings of a content design system. This has been paramount to managing an ever-increasing workload with leaner resources - especially since Ebony juggles multiple projects and subject matters all at once.
For all these reasons, and of course the fact that Ebony is one of the most caring, laid-back and fun people to collaborate with, is why I would highly recommend her to any team looking to invest in content design.

Working with Ebony has been a game-changer. Your ability to turn complex ideas into clear, user-friendly language consistently elevates Rocket Logic's work tremendously. Your excellence in understanding the Loan Option History feature, staying curious on purpose, and asking right questions helped the team to define intuitive terminologies for our bankers. This is one of the most important features in Rocket Logic and collaborating with you has been an absolute pleasure. Within a few weeks of you joining Rocket, you were able to take up this challenge and deliver, a testament to the care you show for bankers.
Ebony inspires me a lot by providing multiple solutions. It is an example of your excellency in systems thinking and methodical approach. For example: When we worked on showing product ineligibilities in app island and content for qualification request fail scenario, you pitched in with thought provoking questions for tech that helped everyone get clarity on the problem. Also, by seeing multiple options it aided the team to compare, validate and align on the solution quickly without the need to iterate back and forth.
Your collaborative approach has made cross-functional work feel seamless. Your connection with the Einstein engineering team to understand the complex space in which messages are rendered as well as the products it impacts is a clear win on how you’ve gone above and beyond in reaching out to folks and elevating the content craft. This space is one of the toughest spaces to enter as engineers are used to writing content for a long time. Helping the team see the value of content and how it can change banker life hits it out of the park and highlights the solid collaborative partnership you established with product and tech in a short time frame. Kudos to the rock-solid foundation that you’re setting up in content governance.
Ebony’s content suggestions are gifted with transforming technical jargon into approachable, actionable content without losing the essence. Your contributions weren’t just valuable; they were essential to creating a coherent, high quality user experience that elevates the product design craft. You’ve been proactive in sharing your thoughts when engineers ask any content questions in our Slack channel and are a very responsive and supportive team member.
You’ve been an exceptional thought partner, helping turn product and design strategy into messaging that’s both impactful and human. I’m sure bankers are going to see the human tone in Rocket Logic more and more as we ship features. It is going to make a huge impact to banker success and business outcome.

I’ve really enjoyed getting to know and working with Ebony on the Enterprise content team. From the start, Ebony has demonstrated a remarkable willingness to dive in wherever support is needed, and she consistently brings a positive, can-do attitude that lifts the whole team.
I appreciate how Ebony’s enthusiasm, creativity and curiosity shine through in her daily work and in brainstorming sessions. She brings a fresh perspective
to every challenge, helping us arrive at human-centered solutions to our content problems. I’ve appreciated the thoughtfulness she’s bringing to Rocket Logic XP, ensuring that the language in the interface matches our bankers' mental models.
I also appreciate how open she is with both requesting and giving feedback. Her feedback definitely helped me improve our team QA process and content intake process documentation.
